1 Technique

Each cell is one C2C tile. The written pattern follows the diagonals from the bottom-right corner.

No yarn selected: CYC reference ball of the weight below.

Estimated from the CYC gauge of the yarn weight until you type your own: measure 10 tiles or stitches of your swatch and divide by 10.

Pick a brush color, then tap or drag across the grid. Thick lines mark every 10 cells, counted from the bottom-left corner.

CYC 4 – Medium yarn

Written pattern, row by row

0 of 49 rows done

Start in the bottom-right corner: ch 6, dc in 4th ch from hook and in the next 2 ch (1 tile). Odd rows are listed from the lower-left end of the diagonal to the upper-right end, even rows the other way.

Our assumptions: cell size from the CYC single crochet gauge of the yarn weight (C2C tile = 3 stitch widths square; tapestry sc row = stitch width ÷ 1.1; filet square = 3 stitch widths × one dc row) until you enter your own; yarn = calibrated model of our yarn calculator (area × 0.82 × √density × stitch factor: dc 1.0, sc 1.3) + 10 % for color changes and tails; tapestry adds the strand carried between the first and last stitch of each color in a row; a filet space uses 50 % of the yarn of a block. Reading conventions are stated above the written rows; check them against your pattern.
