How it works: the math behind the tool
The main counter tracks the current row or round. When you enter a target number of rows, the progress bar shows current row ÷ target rows as a percentage, so you always know how much of a section or a whole piece is left.
The secondary counter is for stitch repeats, increases or pattern repeats inside a row. You choose how it behaves when the row changes: keep counting, reset to zero on every new row, or link it to the row so that completing the set number of repeats automatically moves you to the next row.
Progress = current row ÷ target rows × 100 · Reminder when row mod N = 0
The reminder checks whether the current row is a multiple of N (row mod N = 0) and shows a highlighted alert with your note, for example “increase 6 evenly” every 4 rows. Everything is stored with localStorage in your own browser: no account, no cookies and nothing is sent to our servers.

Frequently asked questions
How do I count rows in crochet?
Count the row of stitches from the foundation chain up: each horizontal line of stitches is one row (or one round when you work in the round). Tap + on the counter as soon as you finish the last stitch of a row, before you turn your work, so the number on screen always matches the row you just completed.
Will my count be saved if I close the page?
Yes. Every change is saved automatically in this browser with localStorage, for up to 5 projects. It stays on this device only: if you clear your browsing data or open the page in another browser, the projects will not be there.
How can I keep my phone screen on while I crochet?
Turn on “Keep screen awake while crocheting”. It uses the Screen Wake Lock API, supported by current Chrome, Edge, Safari and Firefox versions; the lock is released automatically when you leave the tab and reactivated when you come back.
How do I remember when to increase or decrease?
Enter N in “Remind me every N rows” and, if you like, a short note such as “dec 1 at each end”. Whenever the current row is a multiple of N, the counter shows a clear alert and gives a longer vibration on phones that support it.
