Keep your whole yarn stash in your pocket. Add any yarn from our database (or your own) with its colorway, the skeins or grams you have and where it is stored, and the dashboard tells you how much yarn you own, how it splits by weight, what you can crochet right now with each yarn and which ones are about to run out.

Every yarn has at least one full skein.
Your stash is empty. Add your first yarn above or use “+ Add to My Yarn Stash” on any yarn page.

Your stash is stored only in this browser (localStorage). We never receive it and there are no cookies. Export a JSON file to keep a backup or move it to another device.
How to log your stash. Search the yarn by brand and line: if it is in our database, the meters and grams of a full skein, its density and its CYC weight are filled in for you. For hand-dyed or vintage yarn, type the name and copy the label (meters and grams per skein). Enter full skeins, or weigh partial skeins on a kitchen scale and enter the grams: weight is the most reliable way to measure leftovers, because the label length is proportional to the weight. Add the dye lot and the box or bin where you keep it, so you can match lots when you need more.
What the dashboard calculates. The total converts every yarn to grams and to kilometers or yards with its own density (meters per 100 g), so a bag of lace weight and a bag of chunky yarn add up correctly. The weight chart counts how many full-skein equivalents you have in each Craft Yarn Council category from #0 Lace to #7 Jumbo. When you tap “What can I make?”, the project matcher runs the same calibrated model as our leftover yarn calculator and shows which small projects — granny squares, an amigurumi sphere, a scarf, a beanie, coasters, a headband, mittens — fit in that amount of yarn. Any yarn with less than one full skein appears in the restock alerts with links to buy more.
Length = grams × meters per 100 g ÷ 100 · Skeins = grams ÷ grams per skein · Restock alert when grams < one full skein
Privacy and backups. The stash lives only in your browser’s local storage: there is no account, no cookie and nothing is sent to our server. That also means clearing the browser data deletes it, so use “Export JSON” now and then to download a backup file. “Import JSON” merges a backup into the current list without creating duplicates, which is also how you move your stash to a new phone or share it between your devices.

Log each yarn once with its colorway, amount and storage note, then update the grams when you use some. Weighing leftovers on a kitchen scale is faster and more accurate than measuring length, and the tracker converts grams to meters or yards with the yarn’s own density.
No. Everything is stored in your browser on this device. Nothing reaches our server and no account is needed. Export a JSON file to keep a backup or to import your stash on another device.
Tap “What can I make?” on any yarn. The matcher uses our calibrated yarn model to show how many granny squares, how big an amigurumi sphere or how long a scarf you can make, and how much is missing for a beanie or mittens.
Yes. Type the yarn name, choose its weight and copy the meters and grams of a full skein from the label. Custom yarns work in every dashboard metric and in the project matcher.
